The trusted home care provider Always Best Care is planting fresh roots in West Jordan, Utah. This new franchise will be operated by Jeremy and Julianna Thorne, bringing their combined 25 years of experience across business, health care, and education into the mix.
“We are thrilled to open Always Best Care of West Jordan as a meaningful way to contribute to our community,” Jeremy Thorne said.
This move is hot on the heels of a recent Virginia expansion and signals the company’s growing national footprint. CEO Jake Brown praised the Thornes’ local ties and strong professional background, confident they’ll bring “positive impact” to Utah’s senior families.
$47.3M Fund Launched to Back Senior Care Innovators
In Denver, Equitage Ventures just dropped a bombshell: a $47.3 million fund aimed at backing startups transforming senior care across physical, mental, spiritual, and social domains.
This marks the firm’s first official fund and is led by respected senior care investors including Russell Hirsch (Generator Ventures), Adam Kaplan (Solera Senior Living), and Daniel Kaplan.
The investment focus? Everything from care documentation automation and dementia support, to family caregiving tech and senior housing compliance. Equitage’s LPs span home health, hospice, skilled nursing, and tech sectors—creating a robust ecosystem for AgeTech startups to thrive.
Arden Home Health Expands in Central Mississippi
Arden Home Health & Hospice is spreading its reach across five new counties in Mississippi—Hinds, Rankin, Simpson, Lawrence, and Jefferson Davis.
CEO Abb Payne says this is more than a growth strategy—it’s about impact:
“This expansion reflects our dedication to serving communities across our home state with compassionate, high-quality health care.”
Founded in Hattiesburg, Arden has doubled its workforce in the past year and maintains a strong focus on underserved rural areas in Mississippi and Tennessee.
Elara Caring Opens New Location in Historic Clyde, Ohio
Elara Caring, one of the nation’s leading home-based care providers, has opened a new branch in Clyde, Ohio—right inside the historic Eliza Ramsay Home, a senior facility dating back to 1926.
The Clyde office will serve five counties and provide an integrated suite of services: nursing, therapy (physical, speech, occupational), behavioral health, and more.
“Opening our doors in Clyde means more patients can receive the compassionate care they need – right at home,” said Regional Administrator Kara Partridge.
Elara operates around 200 locations across seven states and serves over 60,000 patients.
CareXM Unveils AIDA, AI Tool for Triage Nurses
Last but not least, tech is entering the triage space in a big way. Utah-based CareXM just launched AIDA—an AI assistant designed specifically to support home-based triage nurses.

Built into CareXM’s triage platform, AIDA helps nurses make consistent, confident decisions by analyzing real-time conversations, assessing workloads, and summarizing key patient interactions.
“AIDA reduces cognitive burdens and increases confident decision-making at scale,” said CEO Si Lou.
CTO Chris Stokes adds that AIDA is a “domain-specific” solution that blends live call data with org-specific protocols, ensuring seamless documentation and smart support without replacing the human touch.
Final Thought
From tech to territory, the care industry is evolving fast—and for the better. Whether it’s an AI helping a nurse at 2 a.m., or a small town getting its first home health office, the future of care is closer, smarter, and more connected than ever before.
